FAQs
Do you offer in-person or virtual appointments?
I offer in-person sessions for new patients at my office in Needham located at 1000 Great Plain Avenue, Suite 1. Virtual therapy is available on a case-by-case basis, particularly for existing clients or those with accessibility needs. Please reach out to discuss what would work best for you.
Do you take insurance?
I am currently in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield. If you have insurance through a different provider, I can provide you with a detailed receipt (also called a “superbill”) that you may submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Please note that payment is expected at the time of service for all out-of-network clients. I also accept self-pay clients.
How can therapy help me?
Therapy can help in many ways, depending on your needs. Some common benefits include:
- Gaining insight into thoughts, emotions, and behaviors
- Developing coping skills and emotional resilience
- Improving relationships and communication
- Working through anxiety, depression, or life transitions
It’s a collaborative process where we explore patterns and work toward goals that matter to you.
What are the risks of engaging in therapy?
While therapy is often beneficial, it’s important to understand that:
- You may feel worse before you feel better as difficult emotions surface
- Change can sometimes disrupt existing relationships or patterns
- There is no guaranteed outcome, and progress can vary in pace
That said, I strive to create a supportive, non-judgmental space where we can safely navigate this process together.
How do I get started?
You can contact me via the contact form on this website or by phone at 781-474-0072. I’m happy to have a brief conversation to learn more about what you’re looking for, discuss payment options, get a sense of your schedule and availability, and answer any questions you have about my practice. This initial call can help us determine whether we’re a good fit to work together. From there, we can schedule an initial intake session.
What should I expect from the first two sessions?
The first session is a diagnostic evaluation focused on getting to know you and understanding what brings you to therapy. We’ll discuss your history, background, and current symptoms to begin forming a clinical picture. This session also gives you a chance to ask questions and get a sense of whether my approach feels like a good fit for you. If, during the initial evaluation, it becomes clear that your needs fall outside my scope of expertise, we’ll discuss appropriate referrals and alternative treatment options to ensure you receive the best possible care. At the end of the first session, we’ll talk more specifically about my therapeutic approach and how it may be tailored to address your unique needs. In our second session, which continues the evaluation process, we’ll engage in an exercise to clarify your treatment goals and explore how the ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) framework can support us in working toward them.
What is your cancellation policy?
I kindly ask for at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice will incur a $100 fee, which will be charged to a credit card connected to your medical record. While I strive to be understanding and reasonable—recognizing that unexpected situations arise—please understand that my time is valuable, and a missed session often means that someone else in need of care cannot be accommodated.
